基地將來將成為集合住宅，藉此想順應著將發生的機能討論。集合住宅大面積的開發是否能有保留基地特性的可能?戰後台灣的建築發展，依循著現代主義的脈絡，以理性且經濟的方式建構。在現代主義的模矩之下，停車空間主導了住宅的結構系統，而配置也經濟而規矩的並置，成為城市主要的面貌。在機器人自動化生產和數位衍生式設計的發展下，更多可能的設計得以被實踐。拓樸優化是為一組給定的載荷，邊界條件和約束條件，優化設計空間中的材料佈局。根據自身的重量和力分佈優化，會產生一種有機生長的結構，他所湧現的特性，是能成為連結後自然狀態的因子，並以一個再自然的狀態建構。希望透過此運算給予的結構自由性，聚焦於集居住宅本身，討論其保留舊建物底層的植被狀態與痕跡，並於其上建立的新地表 。嘗試其在室內空間時，反轉結構決定空間的既定事實，重新連結人與空間，讓空間需求決定建築本身。
