''Tiânn'' in a peaceful city
Central circle, as the starting point of prosperity in Chiayi city, is the place which reserves the precious treasure of this city: the spirit of “Tiânn.” However, right beside the central circle, there is another circle surrounded by tall, haunted buildings and not aware of anyone. In this area, the residents lock themselves down; the houses are abandoned; the time is frozen.
Nowadays, the Central circle is full of hustle and bustle, filled with cars; whereas the hidden circle is frozen in time and abandoned, the spirit of “Tiânn” has already gone.
My design tries to gather 5 elements describing the place and tries to redefine them. An air corridor is placed to re-energize the community; some buildings are being torn down to let the sunlight pour into the area; and the area is being reprogrammed as a “fashion library,” where the residents provide their skill of tailoring. It is a place where the treasure of “Tiânn” is reborn.
