The Reading City
Taipei town, known as the home of thought, gradually lost its characteristics and has been used by the residents less. Spaces in the town were replaced by commercial buildings and hotels. To revive the cultural temperament of the space, there will be two spots in my design strategy: one in the 228 Peace park and the other on Chongqing South Road, which had been called “the book forest.” The strategy focuses on bringing vitality back to the town by the power of “reading” and simultaneously creating a new prototype of reading room.
