Nanliao activity center and preschool
Nanliao is the ancestors who came to Taiwan since Qing Dynasty. It is one of the four small villages reclaimed on the west of the Dadu Mountain ridge in Taichung. There is a large pool (45 meters in diameter) and a temple beside the pool. The temple is worship the Lin family who came to Taiwan in the Qing Dynasty.
Nanliao has the common changes as other villages in Taiwan. It's about urbanization. Farmlands get develop and the old houses decay. Nanliao has changed in the process of the place demolish and rebuild to high-rise residential buildings.The function of the large pool is replaced by the water supply engineering. It's not the necessity for supplying life now but it's transformed into a monument .
The design tries to touch the history and memory, and makes the residents re-understand and remember their village, and visitors can read the relationship of Nanliao in a place.
