The negotiation between human and nature
The music box triggered by waves was placed at the waterfront of Anping, playing the theme as the waves hit. Simultaneously, I was pushing the baby-walker music box, trying to accompany the theme. The new notes which were translated by the two machines represented nature. Weird tempo was negotiating this speed of the city. At The Spring, the purified water was rapidly generated by the reverse osmosis system. Meanwhile, three times of heavy metal polluted water was discharged. I used the slow nature mechanism—water cleaning plants, to clean the polluted water. The design was considered as a stage of urban activities. As the water cleaning plants slowly purified the polluted water which was generated by the reverse osmosis system of The Spring, the artificial / natural activities in the city (as the artificial players / natural players) were negotiating and playing a variation of the city, intervening and overlapping multiple time-scales.
