Book - Tree Cafe

Facing the transformation of urban paradigms in the post-pandemic era, and the investment of young people in Taiwan's townships in local creation in recent years, this semester I chose a small town among the three towns in Changhua County (She tou, Tian zhong, Er shui). Town (Tian zhong) is used as the base to explore the vision of town and neighborhood life in the age of aging and declining birthrate. The base I chose is in the old street on Yuanji Road, Tian zhong.
My goal is to preserve the streetscape and heritage that will drive regional revitalization and environmental integration. I want to make it a small town landmark, an intermediary point that can connect tourists with locals. In the flowing space of the old street, I want to make a space where people can stay and rest.In modern times, the act of buying a book is an act that reminds us of the past, and I want it to be a space where Tianzhong's history can be felt indoors and outdoors. The space under the arcade opens up and connects to the outside, so open-ended events can be held. The building has spaces where residents' living, work and interests are mixed, creating a sample of a work-housing society for the future post-pandemic era.
