Between the Mountain and the Sea_The "theater" of environmental perception on the ridgeline
Dadu Mountain under urban planning is regarded as a passageway for the movement of east and west cities. Efficient movement overrides the site characteristics of Dadu Mountain. Crossing the mountain ridgeline has become an obstacle to movement; Dadu Mountain under historical development is a large area. The establishment of NIMBY facilities, the establishment of military camps and cemeteries make the daily life that residents perceive through the ridgeline disappear.But Dadu Mountain should think back to itself. Dadu Mountain is the only place in Taichung where you can see both the mountain and the sea at the same time.The ridgeline is the characteristic of the mountain. It is my starting point to establish the connection of time and space between Dadu Mountain and Shanhaicheng. The design tries to find the place with the strongest conflict on the ridgeline, and the possibility of the base comes from being an external road at the urban level. When it was newly opened, the rapid east-west movement will cut the daily life along the north-south axis of the mountain ridgeline. What attitude should the residents take to face it again?The scope of the site is that the north side of the Art Street Profile extends 300 meters to the north. Within this range, the mountain ridgeline is described from being buried under the skyline of the Art Street Profile. As the surface rises to the north, the mountain ridgeline intersects with the artificial elevation of the residence. Above this elevation, it refers to the history that happened in the Wang Gaoliao area farther away.
