To re-identify who will be victim in the certain political situation in contemporary Taiwan society as well as demarcating where the jail is in a very famous political implicated urban open space,228 park.
Situated in Taipei, the unit project is a memorial for the local victims.Reflecting both on the universal qualities of Hejduk’s drawing practice and on the local Taiwanese culture, the memorial is meant to be both timeless and timely. It is a timeless reflection on human trauma and loss and a timely reflection on the citizen collective events ( Populism ) that is still unfolding. The unit will use the humanistic power to provide contemplation, proposition and hope, resulting in a beautifully articulated building project that will serve as memorial to the people suffering in 2020.
