Mixed residential and commercial housing – Cortex、Inclining column
The site is located in Taichung City. It is an exclusive residential area. The conditions of the site are long and narrow. The design requirements are mixed residences for companies and households.
In the early stage of the design, the concept model of the previous stage was analyzed and converted in 2D. I extracted the primary and secondary relationships in the model and the main A-shaped structural framework for development, as the relationship between public and private and the overall structural system. The most interesting part of the design is the use of different forms of oblique columns to influence and divide spaces of different characters. The oblique columns can pass between the floor slabs. The square columns of different slopes can form the guidance and orientation of the space, and combine the human body dimension to create The distinction between public and private, the external facade and internal structure use different materials to form the relationship between the cortex and the bone.
